This project was a lot of fun — Not your typical workout brochure. I needed to come up with copy for everything from business cards and magnets, to bios and newsletters. And of course, photography.. Graphic Design: Shine Inc. Here are a few samples: We persuaded the client to add an advice column from a cow … . Yes, a cow. We called it, “Cow Wisdom.” Here is the original copy for your enjoyment: “Balance is a law of nature: Cows understand this. Even though they tend to snooze on four legs, they don’t actually sleep on four legs. The practice of tipping cows (or rather sneaking up on a snoozer) only works if you catch them by surprise. A fully conscious cow, on the other hand, seeks balance and will either move away from the offending individual (aerobic action) or constantly adjust their balance when pushed (anaerobic action). This use of resistance to external stimuli saves them from harm. At BodyArchitecture, our individual resistance programs will help you regain balance in your lives so that life does not push you around: You will tip cows should you feel the need (keeping in mind it is a felony in some states) instead […] Read More

Photographed a friend’s grand-daughter a while back. I love this photo… Not because of the lighting or how pretty she is but because of the expression: The hint of the woman she will become: A wabi-sabi fragmentary glimpse of the future. Wabi-sabi is a Japanese world view encompassing the beauty in imperfection. From a truly spiritual perspective it means we are born with our death inside us. I love that. It brings tears to my eyes. On the other hand, no one wants to dwell on their mortality! Let’s celebrate life while we are here. Kids and dogs do that. They don’t pretend to be anything other than who they are, at any given moment on any given day. Love them both.   Read More

About Susan Goddard

Officially, Susan Goddard Photography creates dryer-fresh advertising, corporate and editorial imagery for advertising agencies, design firms, magazines, and corporations, both public and private.

Unofficially, I've lived in the USA for 30+ years after narrowly escaping a rainy future in England. I can discuss American politics but not English ones, unless you count the politics of the school playground. I love chess. I've won one lottery (although there was no cash involved, just an elusive Green Card). I play six-degrees-of-separation for fun and find that in Denver, it's usually only two or three degrees (even if it's the President or a Hollywood movie star and sometimes it's one and the same). I have seen one low-flying, UFO in broad daylight. I am completely in love with my dog, Bodhi, who lives up to his name in every way (a being of wisdom and enlightenment). I am bummed (how's that for eloquence) that neither DaVinci or Einstein are still anchored to Terra Firma because I'd love to meet them, sit around a fountain somewhere (hopefully with an Americano in hand) and ask them what their take is on "Life, The Universe and Everything"... (Thank you Douglas Adams.) I love "Game of Thrones", "Homeland" and all things "Shameless". And I love being in the business of photography.
